Dog Daycare, Boarding & Training

We carefully evaluate every dog that comes to Flying Fur for daycare or for boarding. This is to determine if our setup is appropriate and safe for them and to make sure that they are comfortable on the play yard, in the crate room and with the other dogs that they will meet.

The evaluation/temperament testing day is a full day of daycare.  It can be done any Monday - Thursday.   Drop off times are 7am to 8:30 am and pick up times are 4:30pm to 6pm.  Please make a reservation via phone (540 544 9663) or email (flyingfurdogs@gmail.com) for your Evaluation Day.   

We do ask that you go to the forms tab of this page and download and fill out the Owner Information, Dog Profile and Waiver forms ahead of time. You may bring those with you the morning you come in or email/fax them to us ahead of time. Also please bring along proof of current vaccination for Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella. 

The evaluation day costs just $5.

We love dogs and can't think of a better way to spend the day than hanging out with a group of furry friends. Drop off your pal, go to work or about your activities, and at the end of the day pick up a happy, tired dog and head home for a pleasant evening together.

Daycare is offered Monday through Friday, with some exceptions during Holidays. We are currently offering daycare on weekends but operating on weekend hours.

Drop off on weekdays is 7AM - 9AM

Pick up on weekdays is 4:30PM - 6PM

Single Day:      $26

10 Day Pass:  $210

10 Day Pass with One-Way Transport:  $300

10 Day Pass with Two-Way Transport:  $390

What does a typical day at daycare look like?

7AM-9AM  Drop off time - The dogs are individually crated as the daycare dogs arrive

​

9AM – 11:30AM  Play Time - The dogs are outside on the play yards with the staff, separated into groups by size, temperament and play style

​

12PM - 2PM  Break Time / Lunch Time - The dogs are individually crated for a midday rest, the young dogs can receive lunch if they are still eating 3 times per day

2PM - 4:30PM  Play Time - The dogs are outside on the play yards with the staff, separated into groups by size, temperament and play style

​

4:30PM - 6PM  Pick Up Time - The dogs are individually crated as owners pick their dogs up at the end of the day

All boarding dogs must complete an evaluation day prior to reserving a spot for boarding.  Boarding dogs participate in daycare every day during their stay.

Hours: Mon. – Fri. Drop Off & Pick Up: 7am-9am & 11:30am-12pm & 4:30pm-6pm

Sat. – Sun. / Holidays

Drop Off & Pick Up: 7am-8am & 1-2 pm & 6pm-7pm

*Please call if you need to Drop Off or Pick Up at a different time. We may not always be able to accommodate off hour Drop Off or Pick Up.*

Price:

• 1-3 nights - $42 per night

• 4 or more nights - $39 per night

• An extra $21 for Daycare for Boarders picked up 4:30pm-6pm on Weekdays or those picked up at 6pm-7pm on Weekends.

• 14 or more nights – 10% discount  

• 2 dogs: 7 or more nights – 10% discount  Discount added on total amount of boarding stay.

You may bring your dog's food and a small bed or blanket from home.

Please leave toys, chews, bowls and anything valuable to your dog at home, as we cannot guarantee in what condition it may be returned to you.

WE WILL BEGIN TAKING HOLIDAY RESERVATIONS THE FIRST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 2023!

In order to confirm your reservation, we will need a NON-Refundable deposit of $50/dog for each holiday boarding period.  You can call in during regular business hours with a credit card number or stop in to put down the deposit.

We require payment for a 3 night stay during Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Year Holidays. 

Please contact us as soon as possible to reserve a spot for your pet over the holidays as these dates normally fill up quickly.

The Barking Bus service is available to pick up and drop off dogs in the Blacksburg and Christiansburg area.

The bus service is available for Daycare and Boarding dogs, on Monday through Friday on a space available and weather dependent basis.

The price is $9 per run. The morning bus run is between 7am and 9am, and the afternoon run is between 4:30pm and 6:00pm.  

Our classes will show you how to have fun with your dog while you teach manners and boundaries.  A trained dog is your partner for life!  Depending on demand we offer Basic Manners, Agility, and Flyball. See the training tab for more details.
