Flyball
Flyball is a team sport designed for high-energy dogs and their owners. Your dog will learn the basic pattern of jumping 4 jumps, executing a "Swimmer's Turn" (see the photo of Isaac above), retrieving a ball and returning over the jumps. Check out the sport at http://flyballdogs.com/. Ball drive is helpful but not essential. You'll be strengthening your dog's recall (that's getting the dog to come back to you!) as s/he learns the game!
If you and your dog catch the "Flyball Bug" our flyball club New River Rapids is always looking for enthusiastic new members. Our next series of Beginner Flyball Classes will be held Wednesday evenings, beginning on January 21 at 6:30 p.m.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! New River Rapids will hold our first Flyball Tournament on April 18-19, 2009 at the Blacksburg Community Center. Come watch teams from all over our Region play this exciting sport.
